Thomond Park Stadium
Thomond Park has been a landmark in the city of Limerick since 1934, recognised as one of Ireland's most famous rugby grounds steeped in history and great tradition. The newly designed Stadium needed to be recognised not just for it's rugby, but as a premier venue for sport, entertainment and business. After the success of the Munster Rugby brand, Designers Ink were approached to design and implement the brand for the new stadium. As the stadium is the 'home ground' of Munster Rugby the new brand needed to work well and compliment the existing Munster Rugby Brand.
The concept we designed illustrates the Munster crown emerging from the two sweeping arches of the stadium in a proud and dramatic fashion. The crown shape is equally representative of sound and energy emerging from this ultimate venue while sitting comfortably into the stadium structure. This personifies the superior levels of comfort that is accommodated for at the new stadium. Designers Ink were also responsible for the strapline "Your Ultimate Venue" which epitomises the full range of entertainment that can be catered for in the stadium.
We also developed a suite of comprehensive identity implementation guidelines along with a suite of stationery, corporate folder and a range of marketing and promotional material. The new brand has been used throughout the new stadium on signage - both internal and external along with pitchside hoarding which have proven to be very effective and given great brand presence when it appears on t.v.
